Our Mission: Empowering Individuals with Disabilities to Enhance Their Quality of Life
MORE is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities. MORE was established by a group of parents, educators, rehabilitation professionals and concerned citizens and first began serving adults with disabilities in 1973. The organization has grown from serving less than ten to now over 200 individuals on a daily basis. Our services include direct training in social, living and vocational skills. In addition, we assist the community in providing real life opportunities, including work, for those we serve.
MORE is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Its membership includes concerned citizens, caregivers and persons served. It is the purpose of the Board of Directors to create governing policies that assure the continuation and the continual improvement of quality services to those we serve. Board meetings are held the third Monday every other month beginning at 5:00 p.m. at our main facility at 399 Placerville Drive, in Placerville.
General membership in our organization is available to the public and any individual interested in furthering the purpose of MORE. Annually, the membership elects new Directors and votes on all by-law revisions.
MORE publishes an annual report which contains a description of our program services, a financial report, and much other useful information. If you are interested in receiving a copy of this report, please call us at 622-4848.
